There’s probably better places in Phong Nha
The staff allowed us to check in early when the overnight bus arrived at 5am - very appreciative of this! They are friendly. Decent view. We received breakfast which was nice.
We got electrocuted using the shower and sink in our temporary check in room (103 or 105 I think). I’m not trying to be dramatic, but this is seriously unsafe. I felt a shock up my arm when I touched the shower head, and then again when I put my hands in the water running in the sink. I thought possibly it was just me and static charge, until it happened to my partner also. I tried conveying this to the family who runs it, but there is zero english between them - honestly, if you’re running a hotel for tourists, you might want to at least learn what ‘check in’ means. The bathroom in our allocated room smelled awful, constantly, even overnight, after coming back at the end of the day and with the extractor fan running. Like something had died behind the wall or in the drain. The wifi was inconsistent.

Great place
Everything was excellent. The best room we had in 2 months in Asia. It was clean, beds are comfy, huge shower room. Beautiful view from the window. You can rent a bike, the traffic is ok, so don't have to worry.
Staff mostly doesn't speak English. But you can use translator. The lication on booking is wrong, but that is actually good, if you're coming with bus from DongHoi, it's 2 min walk, next to Visitors Centre. The breakfast was very basic - literally a baguette and 2 fried eggs, no salad, nothing - but there are lots of places to eat around.

BREAKFAST WAS A JOKE..HAD TO FIND MY OWN PLASTIC CHAIR, BEFORE GETTING A BOWL OF 10 CENT INSTANT NOODLES PLONKED BEFORE ME WITH INEDIBLE BEEF ON TOP.THEN HEARD THE AGONISING SQUEALING OF THE HOG BEING SLAUGHTERED IN FRONT OF ME FOR TET HOLIDAY.THEY ALL SEEMED TO BE EXCITED BY THIS ,A GUEST WAS OF NO PRIORITY.PACKED ,PAID AND LEFT.MY WORST 15 MINUTES IN VIETNAM.
